A warm summer’s day, probably July
We are sitting in the park
Wearing t-shirts and dresses
Covered in sticky sun cream
Which makes us glow
But there is no sun today
Many clouds fill the sky
And I wonder if the sun
Wants to join the party
But feels like an uninvited guest
Come out, I want to say
We want you here
But he is shy today
Still, I am grateful for the heat
I realise as she sits across from me
The heat she radiates
Even on days like this
When she’s at her lowest
I still love her
She still warms me
