Ballad of a Student Flat

Slug in the shower,
Mould on the walls,
Dust on the carpet
I weep waterfalls.

Microwave meals,
Out of necessity.
Counting down the days til
I leave this city.

Students don’t need much,
This overpriced space
Makes money enough for
A new face.

There is a slug in the shower,
Our newest flatmate.
We’ve named it and
Aim to use it as bait.
