Baby Steps

There was a time, not long ago,
Where the letter-box on my road,
(its bright red colour glistening in the rain in a threatening manner)
Felt far.

Walking, 2 minutes away from my house, my safe place,
Is something I dreaded.

Now, I see that letter-box – in all its red glory – and I smile.
