When the news comes on and nothing has changed 

And the men in suits stand in the spotlights

And the people wish for a miracle

And the death toll still continues to rise

Perhaps swearing will help

When the reporters report false promises

And you’re sharing one laptop between 5

And still the workers are denied fair pay

And the men in suits are telling more lies

Perhaps swearing will help

When the doctors are telling you the truth

And PPE shortages are widespread

And the people are left pleading for food 

And others still head off and see their mate

Perhaps swearing will help 

When it’s come to this and still here we are

And we have heard and seen what is needed

And they maintain the lies with still more lies

And it’s seen that they acted way too late

Perhaps more than just fucking swearing will help
