To care for her

Keep her close

But let her be free, let her explore

how she handles the world

Learn about what makes her laugh,
what makes her cry

Is there something that spreads a smile across her whole body?
Remember that for the time that sadness and hopelessness seems to swallow her whole

Feed and water her with love and acceptance

Clothe her in warmth and comfort

When she sleeps, sing her lullabies of compassion and kindness
and when she wakes, look at her

Tell her she’s okay
Tell her she’s beautiful
Tell her she’s remarkable, empowering and strong

Because she is
